Belpre City Council Minutes

Council President Mr. Neff called the Swearing In Ceremony of Belpre City Council to order on January 1, 2018 at 10 AM.  The following members were present:  Ms. Abdella, Mr. Campbell, Mrs. Drake, Mr. Gant, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Riffle and Mr. Shutts present.  Also present were Mayor Lorentz, City Auditor Miss Pittenger, and Treasurer Mr. Smith.  Absent from the January 1, 2018 ceremony was Safety-Service Director Mr. Cross, City Law Director Mr. Webster and Clerk of Council Mrs. Meredith.

Mr. Neff asked that everyone please rise for the Prayer and remain standing for the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Neff gave the invocation.

At this time the Swearing In Ceremony took place.  All elected officials took their Oath of Office.

Mr. Neff asked for a motion to appoint Council Clerk Mrs. Meredith as Clerk of Belpre City Council.  Ms. Abdella made a motion to appoint Mrs. Meredith as Belpre City Council Clerk for 2018-2019.  A vote was taken with all members of council present voting aye.  Motion passed.

Mr. Neff asked for a motion to appoint a Council President Protem.  Mrs. Drake made a motion to appoint Ms. Abdella as Council President Protem.  A vote was taken with all members of council present voting aye.  Motion passed.

Mr. Neff asked for a motion to appoint a Council Clerk Protem.  Ms. Abdella made a motion to appoint Mrs. Drake as Council Clerk Protem.  A vote was taken with all members of council present voting aye.  Motion passed.

Mr. Neff had a brief informational meeting for all members of council.  Council was informed of when the news media needed to be contacted regarding meetings.

Mr. Neff also informed Council of the importance of filing your Ohio Ethics, Financial Disclosure Forms.  These forms must be filed by May 15, 2018.

Ms. Abdella made a motion to adjourn at 10:15AM.  A vote was taken with all members of council present voting aye.
